Inclusea

This project seeks to foster and promote greater inclusion and accessibility for people with physical and/or sensory disabilities in surfing in Europe. Through a highly participatory and interdisciplinary process.

INCLUSEA aims to evaluate, develop and co-create best practice guidance for a common teaching methodology of surfing instructors oriented to people with physical and/or sensory disabilities. This will help establish a common European and international standard for those who lead adapted surfing teaching or surf therapy programs.

Main Objectives

Promote social inclusion and equal opportunities

Promote greater social inclusion and equal opportunities in sport for people with physical and/or sensory disabilities in surfing in Europe. Through a highly participatory and interdisciplinary process.

Improve accessibility

Improve the accessibility of sports practice in coastal blue spaces for competitive, recreational and/or therapeutic purposes.

Provide guidance to instructors

Provide well structured guidance to teachers and coaches to successfully engage people who currently face numerous difficulties  accessing aquatic sports. 

Health and wellbeing thru surfing

Promote and enhance the health and wellbeing that surfing provides participants.  

Evaluate teaching methods

Evidence and evaluate best practices and teaching methods to help participants achieve the learning and skills necessary to enjoy surfing at all levels with guarantees of safety, promotion and sustainability.
