Sharing our initial findings at the International Congress of Inclusive Surfing

Our coordinating partner, SRECD (Government of Cantabria), presented the #INCLUSEA project at the International Congress of Inclusive Surfing in Getxo, Bilbao (Basque Country, Spain). Javier Cantera was invited to share some knowledge and experiences with other local and international stakeholders.

The European Project Manager of Cultural and Sports projects of SRECD showed the audience some of the latest findings accomplished by our team of researchers, academics, coaches, volunteers, and participants.

After his conference to public and private representatives of different companies and institutions related to the surf industry and adapted sports, our colleague joined the international panel with Brazilian legend Cisco Araña, Seland wetsuits manufacturer Cristina Solau, ONCE Foundation Accessibility Manager Jose Luis Borau, 3Dlan designers, social workers, and local political representatives, to let the different stakeholders, athletes, and general public, embrace the great benefits of making the ocean a more inclusive, diverse, and sustainable place for the health and well-being of us all.

During this 3-day congress, we were happy to share the methodology and good practices we are currently developing in our Erasmus+ Sport funded consortium. In addition, we enjoyed the discussions about the opportunities that adapted surfing brings to our society.
